The short version
Castaway TV is a media player. It comes with no channels, no films and no shows, and you supply everything it plays. The app is free to install and free to keep using. Castaway Plus is one payment, not a subscription: it never renews, nothing is kept on file to charge later, and there is nothing to cancel.
These terms are written to be read. Where a sentence carries a real limit, it says so plainly rather than hiding in a clause.

Purchases are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. That means your contract of sale for the payment itself is with them: the charge on your statement, the receipt and any refund are handled by Lemon Squeezy, under their terms, and their checkout carries their contact details. How the app behaves and what a license unlocks is ours.
What the app is, and what it is not
Castaway TV is a player only. It does not provide, host, sell, stream or promote any channels, films, television, catalogs or media of any kind, and it is not affiliated with any content provider. It does not endorse the use of unlawful sources.
To watch anything you must add your own sources: an IPTV playlist or provider login you already hold, and your own add-ons. Any account those require is configured in them, not with us. We do not supply, resell, endorse or vouch for any source, and we have no control over and no responsibility for what a source you add returns, whether it works, or whether you are entitled to use it. That is between you and whoever runs it.
Two add-ons ship pre-installed and both are metadata only: Cinemeta for titles, artwork and episode listings, and OpenSubtitles for subtitles. Neither resolves or serves video. Both are run by their own projects, not by us, and either can be removed in Settings.
You are responsible for using the app lawfully, including for the sources you add and the content you play through it, in your own country.
What a paid license buys
A paid license unlocks application features only. It does not include, and does not provide access to, any channels, streams, media or third-party subscription of any kind. Paying us gets you more of this app. It gets you nothing to watch.
Castaway Plus covers one household, up to six devices. Six is stated as a norm rather than enforced as a technical lock; we ask that you treat it as the intent of the license rather than a limit to work around. Reselling, sublicensing or distributing a license key is not permitted.
One payment, no subscription
Castaway Plus is a one-time purchase. It does not renew, there is no recurring charge, no payment method is stored for future billing, and there is nothing to cancel. The Founder price is an introductory price for the first five hundred households, after which the price rises; Founder and Plus are the same license with the same features, and buying early only costs less.
What "lifetime" means
It means the lifetime of the app, not a subscription and not your own. Specifically:
- Your license does not expire. It is verified on your own device, against a key built into the app, and never against a server of ours. It keeps working with no internet connection, and it keeps working if we stop operating any server at all.
- Updates are included while the app is maintained, and arrive through the app's own updater.
- We cannot promise any particular future feature, or that development continues indefinitely. Nobody can honestly promise that, and we would rather write it here than imply otherwise.
- If we stop developing or distributing Castaway TV, your license remains valid and the app you have installed keeps working. What ends is new features, new builds and support. We will not remotely disable or revoke a license that was paid for.
Refunds
Purchases are refundable within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. Request a refund through Lemon Squeezy using the contact details on your receipt, or write to us at [email protected] and we will arrange it.
You can decide whether the app suits you before paying anything: it is free to install, and every fresh install runs as Castaway Plus for fourteen days with no card and no account. Nothing about this section takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
The free tier
Whatever is free today stays free. A paid license adds capability; it is not a wall placed around something that used to be included. If the free tier changes, it changes in the generous direction.
Trial
The fourteen-day trial starts automatically at first launch, on the device, and requires no card and no account. Because it is tracked on the device rather than against an account, reinstalling can restart it. We would rather not chase that than build the account system it would take to prevent it.
Privacy
No accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The privacy policy sets out in full the only two calls the app makes on its own.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you
The app is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that any particular source, add-on, playlist or device will work with it, or that it is fit for a purpose you have in mind. Playback depends on hardware, network and third-party sources we do not control.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app or a license is limited to the amount you actually paid us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as they are permitted, and nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases. A change never retroactively reduces what an existing license already bought. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
