Continue watching and subtitles are free. Choose embedded subtitles or use a subtitle add-on, and change languages during playback. Plus adds autoplay for the next episode and Surprise Me for those “you pick” nights.
What kinds of add-ons work?
Castaway supports the Stremio add-on protocol and plays the direct media URLs your add-ons return. It has no torrent client. Configure any account an add-on needs with that add-on.
Cinemeta is included for titles, posters and episode information; OpenSubtitles is included for subtitles. Neither provides movies, shows or live channels. You supply your own authorized sources.

How are sync and updates handled?
Sync is optional. Data is encrypted on your device and stored in cloud storage you control. See the privacy policy for the full details.
The app checks for new builds and verifies the downloaded file against its published SHA-256 checksum before installation.

Castaway does not include channels, streams or media. Screenshots show a tester’s own playlists and add-ons; your home screen will reflect what you add.
Verified on Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max. Other Android TV devices running Android 6 or newer may work but are untested. Designed for a TV and remote, with no phone or touch interface.
